Um. Well. Um.

By: Abby | Comments 2 Comments

It’s an international break, and from a Hertha perspective, it’s pretty damn boring. Some of the team is gone, and those that aren’t don’t have much to do. They had a friendly against 9th-division side Altenberge, where they scored 10 goals (Artur Wichniarek knocked up a hat-trick, 19-year-old Tim Scheffler did as well, new signing [...]

Sunrise, Sunset

I needed a bit of a break before I could write this- the mix of emotions for a Hertha supporter over the last just about a week and a half. From highs to lows, hope to despair, and the final confusion of what, exactly, to make of everything?
I still haven’t read up on, much less [...]

Oh Hey, This One Happened

I’ve got to be right every so often, right? And now, Marko Babic is a Hertha player.
The 27-year-old Croatian was last seen in the Bundesliga at Bayer Leverkusen, where he played for 7 years and 144 games. In 2007 he left for Real Betis, but never settled in Sevilla (to be fair, Betis is a [...]

I Am Not Good With Transfers

Predicting them, writing about them, whatever. When I write about a signing, it tends to hit an unforeseen snag. When I predict a signing, it’s never that. And when I say that we’re not looking to sign anyone, we immediately get linked to a load of players.
For example, soon after I wrote my last post, [...]

We Are Your Friends

It’s the last game before the winter break and the conclusion of what’s been a pretty neat Hinrunde for us. Fourth on thirty points, with wins over all but one of the top five. And we’ve got one more game to make it our best.
Our opponents are our Fanfreundschaft partners, Karlsruher SC. (Here’s my backround [...]

Elfs, Gifts, and Transfers

By: Abby | Comments 2 Comments

Ah, well. Can’t win them all, right?
Last I posted, Hertha was riding high, unbeaten in five, with quite a lot of confidence. Now, we’ve lost two in a row. Granted, they were difficult games, and neither were lost by much, but still. I tend to prefer winning over losing.

High Flying

By: Abby | Comments 1 Comment

That’s what Hertha is right now. Even Raphael Honigstein is saying it (we’re the surprise package, after Hoffenheim, apparently). That means that, as we head to Werder Bremen in the first week of November, we’re five places ahead of the Champions League team. And even if we lose at the Weserstadion, we’ll still be ahead [...]
