than watch for 90. At least, that’s what I understand from friends and match reports, having not watched it. The game was petering out to a 0-0 draw when Raffael made the most of a poor clearance from former Hertha player Thorben Marx after a throw-in and fired into the net. It was, quite literally, the last kick of the game. In fact, it was so late in the game that the ref didn’t bother to restart after the goal. And so late that GolTV posted it as a draw in their round-up of scores after the live Bundesliga games.
But it wasn’t a draw, it was three points. And three points are three points no matter how they come. We’re now up to 11th, on 26 points, with a bit more of a solidly mid-table look about us. It may be a bit boringly mid-table, but it could be a lot worse.
Other good news is that Raffael has now scored twice in two games- after being fought for by Lulu and eventually bought for a good deal of money by Hertha standards, it seemed like a recipe for potential disaster. But instead he’s scored goals and showed confidence. It’s too early to tell, but we may have actually done something good here with Raffael. Lulu may know what he’s talking about when it comes to players. (And he’s already scored more than Andre Lima.) His wife and father also got to see his winning goal on Saturday.
So now it’s two victories in a row. We’re moving in a positive direction. I don’t want to say too much about it because I tend to jinx these things, so for now, I’m just saying yay.
And happy birthday, Josip Simunic. The big Croat turns 30 today.

[...] A Duselsieg was achieved by Stuttgart against Duisburg (3-2) and Hertha against Bielefeld (1-0) this weekend. Both in extra time, both unjustified and both worth a full three points. This promotes Hertha to be a boring and mediocre mid-table team and Abby likes it. [...]
