You know the best thing about being a Hertha fan is the swinging of emotions. Sure I could have moved to Munich and been a Bayern fan and been happy 95% of the time. But with Hertha you get it all, Ecstacy – normally in the first few games of the season, Frustration – As the wheels start to fall off mid season, Anger – why are they so shit?, leading finally to resignation – Well at least there are other teams worse than us and hell, even if we got into the UEFA Cup only 10,000 people come to the stadium to watch a game at 5 in the afternoon anyway. And that is why I’ll be back with my season ticket for a 4th season next year.

Thanks for the help. I was actually at the HSV game last week and I am glad I didn’t have to pay for the tickets (as they were provided through my program).

Ben is right, Phil. There are a lot of games on GolTV, although I must warn you most of them don’t feature Hertha. Unless they’re playing a bigger team, like HSV. There are ways to watch online, unfortunately, they don’t work with my Mac.

And yes, Jan, for some reason they’re showing it again. GolTV has to show something all day, I suppose…

Good point about the squad depth, which is generally important for European competitions. Though, I think there’s a lot of psychology in play in Nuremberg’s case as well.

You should bank on Hertha collecting a few yellow and red cards in the next matches. And the fans could probably throw flares around. Because Hertha could be going to Europe through a back door. The UEFA Fair Play Ranking awards three extra UEFA Cup spots. I think seven or eight leagues with the best Fair Play Ranking take place. The best ranked team from each league, which isn’t playing in Europe already, takes part in a lottery which awards two of the three spots. The one remaining spot is automatically given to the currently best ranked league. And Hertha seems to be pretty high in that Bundesliga Fair Play table. Though, since this table isn’t public this is only speculation.

Ready for Europe or the Bundesliga, but not both- the Premiership saw the same thing with Bolton, in which they battled well throughout Europe before realizing they were in a relegation battle at home. The squad got stretched too thin and wasn’t ready to compete on two fronts, which is necessary. Although Bolton’s managed to claw themselves out at the moment (sigh). So I guess there’s hope for Nuremberg yet.

Yeah. It’s been really quiet. Even the Bild had to make up lame stories. And hahaha. I guess it’s not quite Chinese government sponsored, so…
