It would appear that what was evident from the Union Berlin game – where if you close Hertha down and tackle and work hard, you’ll subdue them – has been absorbed and applied by other teams, while Hertha seemingly learnt nothing from that game.
Maybe results in the first 10 games over shadowed actual performances. It does seem that Hertha have no plan ‘B’ and is the system the team employ actually the best suited to the players available? Is Lasogga experienced and physically strong enough to play a lone role ? is Ramos wasted wide left ? Do we need players in midfield who can protect the defence and influence and dictate the game.
Babbell does seem a reactive manager, in games where it just isn’t working – it appears he’ll wait until we’re 1 down before changing things and not making changes to try to prevent the inevitable
